The Papyrus of Ani, Chapter 85

Copyright 1997 by Neil Parker.

Text:

To assume the form of the soul of Atum. Words spoken by the Osiris scribe Ani, true of voice:

I do not enter the room of wickedness. I do no come to my end; I do not know it.

I am Ra who comes forth from the Celestial Ocean, which is the soul of the god who creates his own limbs.

Sin is hateful to me; I do not see it. I meditate on the truth wherein I live.

I am the god Hu who is without destruction, in this my name of "Soul." I have brought myself into being together with the Celestial Ocean in this my name of "Khepri."

I have come into being among them as Ra; I am the lord of radiance.
